However, Fairport Harbor residents are granted a 100% credit for municipal income taxes paid to other communities up to 2%. Village residents with earned income must file an annual return with the Regional Income Tax Agency (R.I.T.A.), regardless of whether or not taxes are owed.

Tree trimming does not require a permit. Tree removal and trimming must be done at the expense of the homeowner. The Tree Commission does fund (100%) the planting of new trees. The Village will care for the new tree for one year, after which the resident is responsible for caring for the new tree.
